the backdrop of forever.

Forts at sunrise, courtyards at dusk, desert light that makes everything golden. We photograph Rajasthan weddings with the patience they deserve.

Destination Wedding Photography

Rajasthan is not just a backdrop.
It is a co-author of your story.

There are few places in the world that make every photograph feel like it was composed by someone who spent a lifetime learning light. Rajasthan is one of them. Sandstone at golden hour. Marigold-draped courtyards. The haveli corridor that frames a couple as if the architecture was built for exactly this moment.

We have shot widely in Jaipur, and photographed weddings elsewhere across Rajasthan — palace havelis, desert camps, lakeside mandaps. This page is what we have learned about a Rajasthan wedding: which light hits which fort at what time, and how to position a team so neither the Baraat outside nor the bridal reveal inside gets missed.

The Venues

Every venue has a best frame. We know where it is.

Jaipur

Samode Palace & Jai Mahal

Layered courtyards and jharokha windows that frame couples like old miniature paintings. It is worth shooting at dawn and at midnight — both are extraordinary.

Jodhpur

Umaid Bhawan & Mehrangarh

Blue city light, fort silhouettes at dusk, and the grandest staircase in Rajasthan. Full multi-angle coverage essential — one eye on the entry, one on the family's faces.

Bikaner

Laxmi Niwas & Heritage Havelis

Old-world Rajputana architecture that most photographers never reach. We have. The carved sandstone corridors and intimate courtyards are a gift to documentary photography.

Jaisalmer

Suryagarh & Desert Camps

Desert light at 5pm turns everything amber. We plan around it deliberately. The dunes are a backdrop that nowhere else in the world can replicate.

Gwalior / Raipur

Fort Palaces & City Venues

Central India heritage venues with their own distinct character — Gwalior's fort mandap, Raipur's grand banquet halls. We travel wherever the story takes us.

Your Venue

Wherever You Choose

Tell us your venue and we will tell you exactly how we would work it — which window, which time, which angle. A walkthrough before the event is always included.

Why Fotobar for Rajasthan

We do not arrive and figure it out on the day.

Rajasthan weddings are multi-day, multi-venue, multi-family events. The Mehendi in the inner courtyard, the Haldi on the terrace, the Baraat winding through the old city, the Pheras at the main hall, the reception under the stars. Each moment needs a plan. Each moment also needs someone present enough to abandon the plan when something better happens.

01

Venue recce before your wedding

We walk every location before your event. We know where the light falls, where shadows create problems, and where to position for maximum coverage without being in anyone's way.

02

Full-coverage team, always

At a multi-function Rajasthan wedding, one photographer cannot be everywhere. We cover both simultaneously — the groom getting ready and the bridal reveal. Nothing is missed.

03

Low-light and outdoor expertise

Palace interiors are dark. Desert nights are darker. We carry the equipment and the experience to shoot in both without sacrificing a frame.

Planning a Wedding in Rajasthan

Fort-and-palace architecture makes the light unforgiving. Plan for it.

Season. October to March, no exceptions for outdoor functions. Jaisalmer and the desert camps are best November to February, when the evenings are cool and the amber light at 5pm is worth building the whole day around. Peak dates at the Jaipur and Jodhpur palace hotels fill six to twelve months ahead.

Access. Umaid Bhawan is a working royal residence as well as a Taj hotel, so shoot access to parts of the property is coordinated with the palace office. Mehrangarh and the heritage forts have their own photography conditions. We settle all of it with the venue before the date.

Drone. Jodhpur sits near an air-force base with wide no-fly zones over the city and Mehrangarh; Jaipur has controlled airspace by the airport. Aerials are planned only where a clear zone and venue permission actually line up.

Light. Sandstone and marble throw hard shadows through the middle of the day, so the real coverage windows are the first hour after sunrise and the last ninety minutes before sunset. Everything portrait-driven is scheduled into those windows; the rest of the day is documentary.

Rajasthan Wedding Photography · FAQ

Questions couples ask us about Rajasthan.

When is wedding season in Rajasthan?

October to March. Jaisalmer and desert-camp weddings are best in November to February for the cool evenings and the 5pm amber light the whole day is planned around. Summer, April to June, is not viable for outdoor functions anywhere in the state.

Which Rajasthan venues do you know well?

Jaipur — Rambagh Palace, Samode Palace, Fairmont, Jai Mahal. Jodhpur — Umaid Bhawan Palace and the Mehrangarh fort silhouettes at blue hour. Jaisalmer — Suryagarh and the dune camps. Each has its own light and its own access rules, which we sort out with the venue before the date, not on the day.

Can you fly a drone at Rajasthan wedding venues?

Not everywhere. Jodhpur has an air-force base and large no-fly zones over the city and Mehrangarh; Jaipur has controlled airspace near the airport. Assume any drone shot needs venue permission and a clear zone, and we plan aerials only where they are actually allowed.

How is a multi-city Rajasthan wedding covered?

For weddings that move between cities — a Jaipur sangeet and a Jodhpur ceremony, say — we build in a travel-day buffer for the team and their kit, and scout each venue's light before its function so nothing is shot cold.
